The Eleventh Street Parking Garage project filled a number of needs for the University of Tennessee.
- It provided 1400 badly needed commuter parking spaces for University students.
- It provided shell space at Cumberland Avenue level for the Campus Security offices.
- It serves as a gateway between Knoxville’s downtown and the University’s east entrance on Cumberland Avenue.
- It connects the Hill south of Cumberland Avenue with important campus elements to the north of Cumberland
- Located adjacent to World’s Fair Park, it provides community parking for weekend and evening events.
- Its detailed masonry and precast facade holds dialogue with both the collegiate gothic buildings on the Hill and Knoxville’s 19th century mercantile center.
- Joint venture project with Barber McMurry Architects.
